Merejää uurija soomlane Ilkka koos assisteeriva hiinlasest kolleegiga heidavad pikali, et uurida Põhja-Jäämere jääd katvat lumekihti. See on väga oluline mõistmaks ookean – jää/lumi – atmosfäär vastasmõju ja tagasiside mehhanisme, Põhja-Jäämere aluspinna soojus- ja energia bilanssi ja sealt juba kogu Arktika soojenemise küsimust.
Haven’t you thought sometimes, that it looks a pretty comic at times, what scientists are doing on field, in order to study Mother Nature. No wonder – there are times when I do it myself:)
Sea ice researcher Ilkka from Finland with assisting colleague from China are laying down to study snow pack, covering sea ice of the Arctic Ocean. It’s a very important part for understanding ocean-ice/snow-atmosphere interaction and feedback mechanisms, surface heat and energy balance of the Arctic Ocean and from there the whole Arctic warming issue.
